Growth argument "Internalise environmental costs in the prices": (D/F)
Question asked at a WTO public forum debate:
Mr Pascal Lamy forgot that it is about non-renewable resources, minerals, water, land, soils, biodiversity, a normal climate. The question was introduced by a statement that that economic growth invariably and always increases the pressures and environmental problems. All growth - economic expansion and population growth - increases the rates of resource use, mainly non-renewables. Once these resources are depleted, no money can buy them back.
